
Sajek Valley is currently the most prevalent destination for adventurers. Situated among the quaint-looking hills of the Kasalong, a panoramic range of mountains in Sajek union, dense forests, and sprawling grasslands, it is an absolutely serene and exotic beauty of nature. The valley is 2,000 feet above sea level. Sajek Tripuri Valley is branded as the Queen of Hills and Roof of Rangamati. Its geographical location is 67 kilometers northeast of Khagrachhari town and 95 kilometers north of Rangamati city. The border of Bangladesh and Mizoram of India is 8 kilometers east of Sajek. The innate people of Sajek valley are ethnic minorities. Among them Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Pankho, Kaibarta, Lushai, other indigenous Assamese communities, and Sagma are notable. Women are seen to be more involved in economic activities in that area. Tea stalls, food joints, and roadside marketplaces are dominated by women. Picking fruits and vegetables early in the morning is a common trade here. The people of the Sajek Valley are not fluent in Bengali but the young generation does speak. The simple and basic indigenous lifestyle of the locals is just fabulous for visitors to witness and live.

Sajek valley leaves every single visitor amazed by the presence of different forms of climates. Sometimes it can be very hot but it can get drizzly with the rain or in the blink of an eye there will be thick clouds leaving visitors surrounded by a blanket of fog.

Apart from the main Sajek valley, other places attractions are Ruilui Tripuri Para, Konglak hills, Kalank falls, Alutila Cave, Hazachora and Risang waterfall, and Karnafuli River, Lushai Heritage Village, and Horticulture Heritage Park. These spots are a must be visited on an expedition to Sajek Valley. Nature at its best and as wild and fascinating as it is.
Lushai Heritage Village
Pahari culture and their lifestyle dominated in this village. Aboriginal houses, temples, gardens, open stages, and exceptional shops without shopkeepers are captivating. Visitors can rent tree houses for stay or cottages made from bamboo and swings attached to branches. The rent for treehouses costs around Taka 4000 per night. Lushai Vankhua is one of the most wonderful resorts to rent in the area. The traditional dress of the area can be rented for 100 Taka for a photo shoot. It comes with a skirt, shirt and a hat.
Horticulture Heritage Park
The Park is built across a 22-acre hill in the zero-mile area. The Park offers an adventurous walk across the bridge and also has a large swimming pool. It also has various thrilling rides for visitors to experience.
Ruilui Tripuri Para
It is situated on the top of Sajek and is considered the highest village in Bangladesh. It is a place of natural attractions with the view of stunning verdant hills, majestic blue sky and white clouds carpet credits this village.
Sajek Valley and its splendid surrounding seem like a picture painted by an artist, time passes but Sajek remains as gorgeous. Sajek Valley is incomparable to any other spot. It is dressed in colorful outfits throughout the year, however, the best time to visit Sajek is from July to November.
How to go
Even though Sajek is located in the Rangamati district, it is easier to travel via Dighinalala of the Khagrachari district. There are many bus services from Dhaka to Khagrachari. The ticket costs among BDT 500 to 550 for non-AC buses and BDT 700 to 900 for more luxurious travel by AC bus. Once in Khagrachari, buses that travel directly to Dighinala are available and it takes only BDT 580.
Visitors can reserve jeeps also known as Chander Gari Sajek Valley by reserving from Khagrachari to Sajek including spot-see. It will cost around BDT 8000 to 10000 with the returning fare, including touring around the area. The cost lowers when visitors travel in large groups.
Packages
Often are available holiday packages to the grandiose Valley. Packages may include a stay of 2 days 1 night or 3 days 2 nights. It may also be adjusted according to the visitors’ stay. Visitors’ can also opt for a tour guide during their visit. It will add an extra BDT 6000 for the fare. The cost varied per person according to the number of people in the group. A small group of 6 people will cost BDT 5000 per person while 10 person costs around BDT 3000 per person. There are many standard resorts and hotels around the holiday spot with luxurious facilities. The cost of a resort or hotel per night varies from BDT 2000 to BDT 4000 as affordable.
Food and drinks
The resorts offer a variety of fine delicious cuisines while in the villages, visitors will get to taste the local food of the native people. Drinking water is available almost everywhere in the area.
Sajek Valley is a charismatic, charming place which words cannot justify its beauty without indeed seeing it. It is a recommendable place to enjoy a time out from the daily monotonous stressful lifestyle.
