Jogdol Rajbari is a historic palace located in Ranisonkail Upazila of Thakurgaon District, Bangladesh. It lies about 8 kilometers west of Nekmorod, near the confluence of the Nagor and Tirnoi Rivers. The palace was likely built between 1850 and 1870.
History
The founder of Jogdol Rajbari was Rajkumar Shri Birendra Kumar, a well-educated aristocrat with a deep love for literature. He established a personal library within the palace, which reflected his intellectual interests. In 1948, after the Partition, his entire collection of books—estimated at a value of 50,000 taka at the time—was donated to Surendranath College, now known as Dinajpur Government College.
Near the palace, there once stood a temple that is now in ruins, hinting at the cultural and religious significance of the area during its prime.
