This temple is one of the oldest temples of Thakurgaon. It is situated 10 km away from Baliadangi sub-district. About 400 years ago this temple was built. Although the exact founder of the temple remains undocumented. Yet it is believed to have been constructed during the late Mughal or early British colonial period, based on its architectural features.
What’s inside the temple?
The temple houses a Shiva Lingam, the central deity of worship. Devotees gather here for Shivaratri and other religious observances.
Architectural Style:
The temple is built in the traditional Charchala architectural style, characterized by its four-sloped roof. The structure stands at a height of approximately 30 feet and covers an area of 14 × 14 feet.
The temple's terracotta plaques, depicting various deities and foliage designs, have unfortunately deteriorated over time. Additionally, a large pond lies to the east of the temple, adding to its serene surroundings.
